A sky with room for everyone
On Uttarayan morning, Leela chose a bright blue kite and ran to the terrace. The first gust pulled hard, but her grandfather said, “Look before you let it climb.” She watched for nearby kites, birds, and the people below. When a younger cousin arrived, Leela moved her spool aside and taught him how to feel the tug without pulling too fast. Their two kites did not fly at the same height, but they found different spaces in the same wide sky. Leela learned that sharing the wind made the celebration last longer.
What the kite teaches
Joy needs attention as well as excitement. In a shared public celebration, safety, care for birds, and room for other people come first.
