Ask before the color
Niyati mixed a bowl of pink and yellow for Holi. She was ready to surprise her friend Samir, but she remembered that last year he had not liked color near his eyes. So she held out the bowl and asked. Samir said yes to a little color on his hand and no to his face. Later, Niyati accidentally splashed his book. She apologized, helped dry the pages, and found a clean cloth for the next round. Their laughter returned because the apology was part of the celebration too.
What the colors teach
A joyful festival still needs consent, care for belongings, and a willingness to repair mistakes. Asking can make play more welcoming, not less fun.
A story to read together
An original Gujarati Hindu Calendar learning story, not a scripture retelling or a translation of a published story.
