Origin and background
Rath Yatra is the annual chariot festival of Jagannatha and is observed by Hindu communities in many parts of India, including Gujarat. The main date follows the bright-half second lunar day of Ashadha.
રથયાત્રા જગન્નાથજીનું વાર્ષિક રથ પર્વ છે, જે ગુજરાત સહિત ભારતના અનેક ભાગોમાં હિન્દુ સમુદાયો ઉજવે છે. મુખ્ય તારીખ અષાઢ સુદ બીજની તિથિ પ્રમાણે આવે છે.
Description
Devotees may join a procession, hear devotional music, offer seva, visit a temple, and share prasad. The scale and customs differ between cities and communities.
