Origin and background
Nag Panchami is a monsoon-season observance that honours serpents and the natural world. In Gujarat it is also commonly called Nag Pancham, and customs vary by family and region.
Description
Devotees may offer prayers at a shrine or temple, respect living creatures, and share stories connected with serpent deities. Practices should avoid harming or handling wild animals.
Why it matters
The observance emphasizes gratitude for the monsoon, respect for life, and a careful relationship with the natural world.
